A Parishioner's Testimony...
My journey toward Healing the Whole Person began when I asked the Lord why I did not seem to experience joy as I saw it in other people. I asked the Lord to teach me what the scripture John 10:10 meant—“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance, to the full, until it overflows”—and to teach me what joy really was.
Through prayer, the Lord showed me that I was hiding within a hooded cloak and afraid to come out and let people see who I really was. I felt led to attend the Healing the Whole Person seminar. During the process, the Lord accompanied me through past experiences where I had been wounded and showed me why my emotions were so muted. He began to show me that He loved my emotions and treasured them. He showed me that they are gifts and that I did not need to be ashamed of them.
I am still on the journey of healing, but now I experience deeper emotions and am able to show those emotions to others. I feel lighter and more joyful, and peace is flowing like a river!
The Lord gave me a beautiful scripture,
and through prayer showed me that I am
now dressed in a beautiful cape:
“I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul; for He has clothed me with a robe of salvation and wrapped me in a mantle of justice, like a bride bedecked with jewels.” —Isaiah 61:10
Healing the Whole Person teaches you to be curious and wonder “why?”—and to ask God to show you the why. God wants us to be whole and free so that we can love well. What an amazing gift!
